Parkwood Lodge registered for 7 is a large spacious detached home for adults with a mental disorder and associated complex needs, located just a mile away from Waterlooville town centre, where there is a range of shops and leisure amenities. Portsmouth City Centre is only 5 miles away.
The home offers seven single rooms all with full en-suite facilities a large lounge/dining area, and a large kitchen. By the lounge area, to the rear of the house is a large conservatory that leads out to a safe & secure garden with patio and barbeque areas.
We have a Day Care Coordinator who assists service users with accessing educational and recreational activities, and develops individual timetables of their choice whilst offering support and guidance on accessing local colleges for recreational and occupational needs. The home has its own transport for educational recreational trips and activities in the community.
Service users are involved in interviewing potential staff and asking questions, and give personal opinions and feedback on applicants after the interviews.
Philosophy
We offer a service tailored to the complex needs of the individual – enabling the service user to integrate safely within the local community, therefore achieving full citizenship. A supportive and safe environment encourages development of the individual to take responsibility for their lives and their behaviours.
We support the service user to meet individual goals and aspirations with dignity – upholding the rights of the individual. All service users are encouraged to take an active part in the running of the home and the formulation of their specific care plans and risk assessments.
Service users are encouraged in the promotion and achievement of independence, with specific tailored plans to enable them to develop and practice key skills. Service users are supported by staff at each stage of this process, but are empowered to make decisions for themselves.
We offer when needed support and advice from our in house Psychology and Psychiatry teams.
