Sennen lodge registered for 8 is a large detached home for adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and is situated approx one mile from Eastleigh town centre and local shops with easy access to the M27 and Southampton City Centre (3 miles away).
There are four bedrooms on the ground floor and four on the first floor with a lift available if needed for individuals with mobility difficulties. All eight single rooms have full en suite facilities. There is a quiet lounge with a large lounge/dining area, leading out to specifically designed area for indoor day activity facilities including a separate fully equipped sensory and IT room. There is also an art & craft room and ballpool room. These areas lead out onto a patio area and large safe secure garden.
The home has its own transport which is used for recreational, educational trips and activities in the community.
Philosophy
We offer a service tailored to the complex needs of the individual enabling the service user to integrate safely within the local community therefore achieving full citizenship. A supportive and safe environment encourages development of the individual promoting self determination and empowering the individual to take responsibility for their lives and their behaviours.
We support the resident to meet individual goals and aspirations with dignity upholding the rights of the individual. All service users are encouraged to take an active part in the running of the home, formulation of their specific care plans and risk assessments. There is also access to support from our in house psychology and psychiatric team dependent on individual needs.
Service users are supported to achieve greater levels of independence, with staff working closely with the resident to encourage them to develop and practice key skills. Service users access local services for their educational / recreational needs, both using local transport and the homes own vehicle.
We offer when needed support and advice from our in house Psychology and Psychiatry Teams.
