Inspections & Official VisitsSchedule 2 of the Commission for Social Care Inspectorate provides a list of records which must be kept within each home. These records are maintained up to date and available for examination by the Registration and Inspection Officers. A copy of the Certificate of Registration must by virtue of Section 5 (6) of the Act be kept affixed in a conspicuous place in each home. The attention of all who conduct inspections of any kind is drawn to this certificate. Environmental Health Officers have powers to inspect under the relevant legislation currently in force. These are officers of the appropriate local district council. Their visits are welcomed by the home manager. Any adverse comment or recommendation made will be passed to the Manager/Responsible Individual to enable remedial action to be put in hand. At least bi-annually, there are visits from the Hampshire County Council, Social Services Department. All reports are available for viewing. The Fire Officer also makes periodical official visits to ensure fire standards are adequately maintained and recorded. The Fire Officer's reports are issued to Social Services. |
