Principles of Care

Our principles are to:

1. Establish a homely, non-institutional environment
2. Assess fully each service user's needs.
3. Provide high quality of service that recognises the service user's individual right to respect and a valued quality of life in which they have choice and support.
4. Ensure, through assessment, that the service user's needs are met.
5. Seek opportunities for participation and integration into the local community activities.
6. Ensure equal opportunities for service users to promote choice and self-determination.
7. Encourage service users to express their individual views and contribute to the everyday running of the home.
8. Be sensitive to the needs and wishes of the service user; their dignity, independence and choice being paramount.
9. Protect the rights of the service users and to ensure that they maintain freedom from exploitation.
10. Actively promote citizenship and self-advocacy
